I went there to have a dress hemmed, the room was disgusting with an old mattress on the ground, dirty carpet, etc. I am new to the area and needed the dress done, so I shrugged it off. I asked for a price and he said probably around 40. He didn't do the alterations. So, I go get the dress- I wait 10 minutes bc his son who is working the counter can't find the stub. My kids are crying as the son calls the mom. She doesn't know the price. I say I remember him saying it might be 40, the son tells the mom that (I think, they are speaking a foreign language) he says ok, 40.
I wake up the next morning to a threatening voicemail left by i am assuming the owner telling me, the hem cost 60, and then added a steaming of 7. What?!!!! I would never have paid 70 for a dress to be taken up an inch! He tells me to come in and pay it or he will charge my card! First, he can't do math. Second, I have never paid more than 30 for any gown to be hemmed! Third, this is the worst stitching job I have ever seen!
Awful customer service, if you can call it that. The store itself is disgusting- and I just moved from NYC! No way will I ever recommend this place
Update- Owner ran my debit card without my consent for additional 30! I will be contacting the bank and also writing the paper about this! Nice welcome to your town! Bogus tailor and bogus charge!
