Last May prior to leaving for the summer and fall we had this company clean our tile floors. While at our house, we asked him to also clean a chair and our sofa. He did the chair and decided to test the color fastness on the sofa by using his cleaning solution on the side skirt of the sofa. There were 6 pillows on the sofa but he chose to do it on the sofa. The color ran and he stated, ""I better stop as the color was running."" I heard him say this and my husband was in the room when he tested it, stopping because of color running.
Returned to Naples in Dec for the winter and contacted the owner who just left our house and told us to ""sue me."" First he said our dogs could have lifted their leg on the sofa. Then he said why did we wait so long to call him. He said the problem could have happened over the summer when no one was in the house. He has selective amnesia not remembering that he said, I'd better stop as the color is running.""
This man is insured but told us he won't submit it to his insurance as they will raise his rates. He said he has been in business for 15 years and never has submitted one claim to insurance so if we want we will need to ""sue"" him. I would like everyone to be aware of our experience with this company. Hiring someone who has insurance to cover any damage means nothing when they refuse to own up to damage they have caused. The owner of this company has a horrible attitude and poor business sense. Not only that but his judgement to test his ""ammonia"" based cleaning solution on the actual sofa when there were 6 pillows was stupid at best. It is so discouraging as a consumer that no one is willing to accept responsibility for their own actions anymore.
