When we were getting ready to build an addition to our house, I initially was confident that I was going to choose 1 of 2 builders who had been recommended by friends of mine. Then, I got a flier in the mail from Sommer Construction and decided to have them bid on the project as well.
I was not expecting to choose Thomas over the other 2 builders but he was so proactive, upfront, and honest about what he thought it would cost, that we decided to go with him.
My experience with Sommer Construction was great. Thomas was very solution-oriented. In any building job, there are always issues that come up -- that is the nature of the task -- and Thomas goes immediately from problem to potential solution. Also, he solves it the way I, the customer, need it solved instead of doing it the quick way for him.
I had heard horror stories about builders adding cost for changes to a project but this did not happen to us with Sommer Construction. I really felt that we were well taken care of.
We hired Sommer Construction a second time to do some stone work/landscaping in our yard. We got multiple bids for the project and, again, decided to go with Thomas because he was very proactive and his price was competitive.
Another thing that was great about Thomas was that he met and even beat his own estimate for the scheduled time by which the jobs would be completed.
I had a good experience with Sommer Construction and would definitely recommend them.
