Sommer Construction was more than my sister Dianne & I could have ever asked for. Our father who passed away June 27th highly recommended Thomas & we are thrilled we followed his advice. She is in CT & we talk regularly. Everytime we talk, we are amazed at what we accomplished while she was here & had we not had Sommer Construction, it would never have happened.
From our first conference to our final date, August 17th, we knew we were with the right people. The painting crew led by Santiago Reyes was absolutely extraordinary. His team was always there as was Santiago for every need. He was with us the entire last day & the punch list was completed with perfection.
Ricky Calderon completed our plumbing needs with kindness & perfection plus he was with us our last day to see that all was completed. He was extremely kind & professional. Jose Hurtado & his co-workers were wonderful in fulfilling our desires for the yard. In spite of changes, Jose was always there to complete them. Santiago's brother & friend did a fabulous job with the tile floors & Martin also with the wooden floors. Martin & his co-worker leveled the the floors beautifully & constructed a lovely transition into the kitchen. Santiago's brother also did an excellent job with the fireplace. I want to also say that Carlos was wonderful to have around. His presence was comforting as he always worked quietly with perfection & a big smile. He was always there when needed. I must admit I cannot commend Santiago highly enough for his professionalism, expertise & kindness. His tasks were nasty beginning with removing all popcorn from the ceilings, painting high beams, nailing & painting floor moldings, completing a beautiful hand rail, plus touching up kitchen cabints with a stain he prepared. I'm sure there are important tasks I have forgotten but I do want to say I would highly recommend all who worked for us.
Without Tom Sommer we could have never completed such a large project in the time we did. We are still amazed. He set up all workers at the right time & always was aware of what needed to be done & when. He worked around my sister & me being there which meant there were sleeping arrangements in constant transition which I'm sure was not easy for him or his people. He was totally up front with us regarding the first estimate & then with changes that came later like adding a fireplace, hand rail etc. He was very honest when an estimate regarding carpeting the stairs was incorrect & covered the mistake. He assisted us whenever we needed him especially with the flat screen & DVD player. He ran around for whatever we needed from fixing the dining room light to purchasing door knobs & other items. We became very close to him & enjoyed meeting his children & wife. Also Dianne had a wonderful time with Santiago Jr. at the park with her dog Bailey.
It was quite a journey but one we could have never accomplished without Thomas. His workmen were just so great & Dianne & I still talk about them. We knew Thomas cared, wanted to make us happy & treated us as he would have treated our 96 year old father & this was so very special. We will remember them all & because of such exceptional planning & work, our home has a wonderful family who moved in on Sept. 19th. This could have never happened without Sommer Construction. I know I have forgotten some things but hope I have remembered the most important.
