Review content:
I have attended a number of different events at the Stoneham Theatre. The Theatre is brand new, completely renovated in 2000. Reminds me of an old dowtown movie Theatre (which this was). Very elegant.
Productions include Always Patsy Cline, A Christmas Carol, Rope, Little Shop of Horrors and A Woman in Black. All were great. Their stage design is fantastic and you are so close, you feel a part of the performance.
They do a great jazz series - I saw Count Basie Orchestra, Ann Hampton Calloway and Gayle Nelson, which was great here.
The Theatre seats 350, so every seat is great.
They just did Marathon which was reviewed in the Boston globe 1/21/03 --- > great play.
There is always something going on every week at this Theatre and I have become a regular.
Great restaurants in the area too make for a nice night out.
Pros: lots of parking, equity theatre, rts 93 / 128 close by
