If you're considering building with Gold Medallion Homes, please take the time to talk to others whom have done so. We built with Gold Medallion in 2006/2007 and had nothing but problems since signing the contract.\r

After talking to many neighbors it has become evident that there are very few satisfied customers of Gold Medallion. As a matter of fact, we have been unable to find ONE person that was satisfied with the experience of using Gold Medallion. This was after talking to approximately 20 of their customers.\r

We have been in our house for over 18 months now and still have unfinished work. After closing they became impossible to contact. Ryan, the person that was in charge of warranty work, was incompetent. We don't know if he is still working there as we have given up trying to contact the company. It pains me to say it, but they were successful in giving us enough of a run around to make us give up. Even after speaking with Kristin Nilssen, the owner of Gold Medallion, we were still unable to get our repairs completed. Actually, Kristin made us feel like we should have been honored to even have the opportunity to speak with her.\r

We have windows that don't open, trim that wasn't finished, were left with a grading problem, have a non-functioning air conditioner and our our entire floor squeaks regardless of where you step. A large amount of external concrete had to be replaced; anything that they poured cracked and was gravel within 2 months. We had no working phone or internet jacks when we moved in. The electrician completely botched these systems. Of course, I had to hire my own electrician to come out and fix everything despite several weeks of trying to get the builder to come back. Gold Medallion and Kristin Nilssen knew of these items within 1 week of closing and have yet to repair them over 18 months later.\r

Please reconsider using this builder. It appears, based on previous experiences from many customers, that you will be unhappy in the end.
Pros: The person that originally sold us the house was great.
Cons: It was all downhill after that.
