Review content:
So, I came to Busch animal hospital after seeing the advertisement for a $59 recession special (office visit, physical exam, fecal, and shots).
When I arrived, it was hard not to focus on the extremely dated/borderline goss appearance of the whole facility. But I pushed through, and tried to give them the benefit of the doubt.
Unfortunately, once we got to the exam room, my doubts were not exactly put to rest. When I think of any medical facility, I picture a much more sterile looking environment. I'm sure there are much worse, but this facility needs a renovation......bad.
The doctor did a very quick physical exam and then fecal. Once he was getting the vaccinations ready he was telling me what vaccines he was getting ready to do. I noticed that he didn't mention the bordatella, so I asked why. He informed me that the bordatella was not part of the special. I read the flyer, and indeed there was no mention in the small print* about the bordatella. I have never been to a place where bordatella was not included in the shot package. So, I asked him how much the bordatella shot would be, and he said $29 extra. That price is too high in a ""nice"" office, in this place, it's rediculous. He then asked if I wanted to do the heartworm test, and I asked how much that would be....$49. Unreal. My total ended up being $99.
On top of the $59 ""special"", and $29 bordatella, I was charged a $5 file setup fee (I filled out the paperwork completely, yet he had me come up to tell him information to put into their computer, all of which was in the paperwork). Also, a $6 ""environment"" fee. I'm pretty sure this is a waste disposal fee, but the fact that the word ""environment"" was used makes this seem extra insane.
I can get all of these things, plus a heartworm test for under $85 through the Healthy Vets (mobile vets) at the Feed Depot on Nebraska. The only reason I gave this place a chance was because I needed to board my dog last minute. At least now I know.
