Be prepared for the biggest hassle when dealing with memberships here. I signed up, signed a year contract and fulfilled my contract. My husband went in to talk to someone about a membership and was billed for a Personal Trainer (which he did not want or sign up for). After many attempts with phone calls and visits to the Cedar Park location trying to get his money deposited back into his account, he finally received a check in the mail. His membership was cancelled and In the meantime his account was being deducted for purchases (for some sort of drinks) that my husband did not purchase. He was now told that he was not allowed to get a refund on drinks purchased. So I suppose they can charge you for something that you did not purchase but they can't give you the money back for it. \r \r Due to an income change in our household, I went to the location to cancel my membership. The girl there told me that I would have to sign a 30 day cancellation notice but that instead of cancelling the account, I should put a freeze on the account. This would still have the 30 day notice, then I would not have to pay membership fees for 3 months. If things changed over the next few months, I wouldn't have to pay new membership fee to get started again. If I did decide to continue the cancel, my last month's fees were paid when I signed up and all I needed to do was call in 30 days before the freeze would expire and I would be good to go without paying anything else. In the meantime here we are two months later and Gold's Gym is still deducting membership fees from my account. The lady that spoke to in the corporate office now wants to take the past two payments and credit them to an account that I no longer can afford to pay nor did I want to keep and should have been stopped over a month ago. When I told her to go ahead and just put in the cancellation like I tried to in the beginning, she is now saying I won't receive any of the money that they continued to take out of my account back. So I guess we pay the last month's fees twice. \r \r I think if this business could get their customer service and membership department together, they would have a decent business. If you are reading these reviews and are thinking about signing up, you might want to look somewhere else for a decent gym. Maybe Lifetime Fitness or Anytime Fitness. As for me, I will never sign up with Gold's gym again. I will take my money elsewhere. \r
