I have known and loved this restaurant for years. And thus became close with the staff. Although this is a restaurant, it is still ran by human beings. I am sure there are exaggerations in the story and by the way it sounds much exaggerated. Corey starts work at 8 in the morning while only stepping out for about an hour around noon to run errands. The ""chef"" you saw in the kitchen ""around"" 8 p.m. on a SUNDAY is the owner. Although he is running a business to the public, and may have handled your situation better, you might want to take into consideration that the man is only human. And if it was a slow night and you show up late he was probably packing it up and calling it a night. I don't know if you have read other reviews (try Yelp). He has been compared to the soup natsi But if you get to know him he isn't. And after 20 years I think he knows what he is doing. I am sure that one minute wouldn't have made a difference, maybe 15 and then another 5-10 to wait for the rest of your party was just prolonging his already 12 hour workday. You may have spent $200.00 (which is highly unlikely given his prices) but after 13-15 hours a day for 5 days of intense hard labor running that restaurant all on his own, you would have been a bit annoyed as well. Your Server, Erin, is highly hospitable, like the owner, she is human too. I would have to assume that she did all that she could to make you feel welcome and explain as best she could. We fail to realize as a general public that people who serve as food and cook us food, or serve us in any way in retail or food and beverage, are people. People with feelings. They make mistakes, they forget, but the good majority or them just want to please. I don't think boycotting this restaurant or any establishment based on a bad first impression is right. Give it a second try. This time on a different night and time and see for yourself what a delight this restaurant really is.
