We ordered cupcakes from this bakery about a week and a half before we were scheduled to pick them up for a girl's birthday party. Gave what we thought were pretty simple instructions (colorful fondant background, colorful lettering).
We called to say we were coming to pick up the order, they acted alarmed and asked us to give them another hour or so. OK, you had a week. We picked up the cupcakes, and the lettering looked as if they wrote it with a sharpie in black. They looked rushed, and really thrown together. Not professional looking at all.
My wife and I have both worked in the service industry, so we're really reticent about complaining, but this was a bit too rough. So we returned them for a touch-up (not even to redo them).
Their reactions to this were AWFUL. Almost yelling at my wife and acting really frustrated that they were called on sub-par work. My wife was reduced to tears while trying to get her concerns addressed. We'll never, never use them again.
