With a group of 7, this little Williamsburg hideaway (no sign outside the door, but you can decipher the location from the bamboo-ish decor outside) was simply delightful. First thing, you need reservations. This place gets packed very quickly (even though there has been very little advertisement). As you enter, there is a little sitting room to the left (on the small side though) and to the right is the hostess area, which is roped off (yes, it is a bit odd/pretensious). Everyone though is quite attentive and friendly. There are three floors, with the main dining room on the 2nd floor. The decor is simple and modern ? lots of wood elements. At the ends of the dining tables are ?call buttons? for the wait staff. Now to the food (which is tapas style) ? YUMMY! The miso cod was to die for, the tofu (both the warm and agedashi) was cooked to perfection, the oden was simple and tasty, pork belly was sinfully delicious and the fried chicken was fun to eat (but nothing too special). Anything not great? The foie gras was okay (not a huge fan) and the omelet dish was too heavy with cheese. Price ? not too shabby. Each one of us ordered 2 tapas dishes and the bill per person (including tip) was less than $40 each.
