Review content:
I dined at the Niwot location last night. The food was delicious (and plentiful!) but I was disappointed with our service. We came in with a coupon that excluded alcohol, which was fine — we were prepared to pay for that separately. However, because we were using a coupon, the manager refused to give us the happy hour pricing on our drinks. Seems like a case of wanting to have it both ways: Either the deal excludes alcohol or it doesn't — it can't exclude it EXCEPT for the purpose of making it more expensive! Then, when the bill came, the restaurant included an 18% gratuity that included the drink cost. Seems like if I can't use a coupon towards the cost of a drink then the restaurant shouldn't get to use the cost of our (now more expensive) drinks towards the cost of the forced gratuity. The waitress was totally gracious about the whole thing, but the manager was very brusque with us. I wouldn't let this stop anyone from eating there — I've had good experiences in the past — but beware if you have any sort of coupon. Just seems to me that if you're going to participate in coupon websites you need to be prepared to honor those deals, not try to wriggle out of them after the fact. What I had: Queso Fundido - Yummy but drowning in oil. Chile Rellenos - Good Tres Leches Cake - Oh so delicious 30/30 Margarita - Delish
