This place is fantastic. I can't say enough good about it! Tomato(e) Vine a small road-side produce market that boasts fresh local produce, dairy products, cured meats, and canned goods (I'm not talking ""Green Giant"" canned, I'm talking small-batch relishes, jellies, jams, honey, etc.). Their prices can't be beat for what you get, either. I got a watermelon from there this week for $3.99 -- extremely sweet and juicy! -- and hardly glanced at the $7.99 watermelons just up the road at the grocery store. If you are looking for Hispanic produce and dried goods, they have them, too. Winter brings less fresh produce, but they pull out a wide variety of bins filled with dried fruits, nuts, grains, and candies -- scoop what you need -- as well as plenty of citrus fruits. Great for those of us who offer fruit baskets and baked goods around the holidays! Above all, their staff are very friendly and happy to help when you need it.
A quick note to first-timers: they do NOT take credit or debit cards! The only forms of payment they will accept are cash, check, or EBT. If you should find yourself at the checkout with only your card, just ask the cashier to hold your purchase while you hurry to the ATM. (There's one up the street just outside of Publix.)
Pros: Lots of fresh, local, low-priced produce
Cons: Not always the largest selection, but it's freshest!
