Review content:
The people who run Meat are absolutely wonderful. We had a very sick cat who couldn't keep food down. Hundreds and hundreds of dollars worth of vet tests and medications did nothing and he got skinnier and skinnier. After some internet research we decided to try a raw-meat diet. I'd seen Meat on Burnside and called them up. We got step-by-step help picking out food and setting up a schedule. As a long-time vegetarian I wasn't thrilled at the idea of mixing up the meat and other ingredients, but I was willing. Thank goodness for this store! They have all sorts of pre-mixed and measured food. All we have to do is thaw it out. The cat is healthy now. He gained some weight, started playing again. We spend more now on his food, but I've never seen a fourteen-year-old cat so feisty and healthy. People are now shocked to hear his age. The folks at Meat are friendly and VERY knowledgeable (unlike some other local Portland shops). Three cheers for Meat!
Pros: Healthy pet food, knowledgable staff.
Cons: Pricier than the dry or canned stuff.
