6/29/2006 \r \r This was our first visit to the Cheesecake Factory, and we held off visiting this establishment because we live in the area, and saw the crowds on weekends. Based on local recommendations, we decided to go midweek, arrived at about 5 PM, and asked for a table for 2. There was only a very small crowd line waiting for tables. We were seated promptly, [less than 10 min], in a booth to the left of the bar. The restaurant was fairly crowded, and the noise level was high with the overhead music as the loudest factor. An hour later, the noise level increased, as the ambient chatter from the bar area and other seating areas became a roar making any conversaton difficult. Definitely, not a place for children. \r \r Service was fairly prompt and attentive. Our server knew the menu well, offered appropriate suggestions, and answered our questions about the menu with ease. We were were allowed to take our time with the menu, and we were not rushed throughout our dinner. \r \r We ordered a bottle of house chardonay which was nice, but a a bit on the oaky side.\r I ordered the Cashew Chicken and my wife ordered a large shrimp salad. Both orders were not rushed and when delivered to our table, were good in appearance and taste. Portion sizes were good and very filling, so we did not order dessert.\r \r As we left the restaurant, the line waitng for tables had tripled in size, and the noise level was getting louder. I would avoid this restaurant on weekend evenings and dine only mid-week when the crowd size is a bit lower.\r \r I would have given the restaurant a higher rating if the music / noise level was a little lower. I would consider a return visit to the restaurant after Wayside Commons opens this fall, adjacent to the Burlington Mall, with newer restaurants that will give this restaurant some heavy competition and maybe reduce the crowd level on weekends. Pros: Attentive service, free parking, reasonable prices Cons: Noise, long wait on weekend evenings.
