Review content:
As a recent graduate of a hospitality bachelor's degree program, I was really surprised to read the other reviews about Stan's Place here on CitySearch. Being in the restaurant industry myself, I am very picky when out to eat. I am very aware of service and the quality of food. I think I am much harder to please than the average restaurant-goer, so reading anything negative about Stan's Place is almost unbelievable.\r
My wife and I have gone to this restaurant at least six times in the past five or six months and every single experience has been wonderful. The atmosphere is relaxed, but you still feel like you are at a trendy eatery in SoHo without the long waits or pretense. The candle light in the evening makes ""the Place"" perfect for a romantic evening out. The waitstaff is friendly but knows how to give you your space when eating. Stan himself was extremely friendly to us and came over to check on our meals and have a quick chat. We have tried various items on the menu and each time we have been stuffed silly by the end of our meal. And we STILL want to have dessert! (Try the bread pudding!) We also recommend Mildred's Fried Chicken (my personal favorite... succulent chicken, perfectly breaded, delicious mash potatoes) or the Red Beans and Rice (my wife's favorite... the spicy andouille that comes with it just puts it over the top). ------------------\r

Please, don't let a few grumpy, jaded New Yorkers taint your view of a wonderful restaurant hidden in Brooklyn!------------------\r
