Cedars is well known to most native Tulsans... but I'm always surprised when I find that someone moved here years ago, and hasn't tried Cedars yet. It's a locally owned establishement... and you'll see Sam and Nuhad every time you walk in the door. I'm amazed that after my 3rd visit, they remembered me, and started asking how I was, how my husband was, etc. The atmosphere isn't too great. They serve the food on styrofoam plates, and use plastic silverware. But the food MORE than makes up for the atmosphere. I've tried just about everything on their menu, and it's to die for. My favorite is the Cabage Roll Dinner, and the Chicken KaBob Sampler. Cedar's offers what few places do today... a locally owned atmosphere where everyone REALLY DOES know your name. If you havent' tried it, you really have to. They also sell their food "to go". Pickup a tray of grape leaf rolls or a pint of tabouli before you leave! The one thing I don't like... they close at 6:00 on weekdays, and 3:00 on Saturdays. So even when I'm in the mood for dinner at Cedars, I have to settle for lunch.
