Review content:
I shipped an art piece, valued at $5500. Because UPS had always had a very good run with me, I only insured it for $2200.00. It was a sale item and I insured it for what was paid for it.\r
\r
Well, the shipment arrived in North Carolina where my customer could hear the glass rattling so it was refused and sent back.\r
\r
When I went to inspect the art package at the Burnet UPS store, I noticed to my dismay that it was NOT packaged the way it was described to me when the shipping was paid ($173.00)! Unhappy, I filed the form only to have the woman manager tell me a week later that she needed additional documents. I wrote the documents and delivered it personally to the office on Burnet Rd.\r
\r
One week later, I called the office and inquired as to the update of the claim. THIS TIME I WAS REQUIRED TO HAVE ANOTHER GALLERY OWNER TESTIFY TO THE FACT THAT THE ORIGINAL LITHOGRAPH WAS NOT SELLABLE IN ITS CURRENT CONDITION! \r
\r
HOW could I ask any gallery owner to close their store and view the obviously damaged lithograph. When I took a fgallery owner, riend of mine who was kind enough to do so, he was aghast when he saw the damaged item.\r
\r
He turned to meand asked me ""Why are they doing this?"" I looked at him and said, 'because they require a man to come in and verify what is obvious to any casual observer as to the damage on the lithograph!'\r
\r
As I was leaving I said to one of the staff member there that I knew exactly what UPS was doing. He responded, 'I know that they are giving you the run-around, and I am sorry for that, ma'am""...\r
\r
I may still refer the complaint to the State Attorney-General. These flatliners should not be running a business!\r
\r
Sincerely,\r
\r
