Hi Everyone-
I have owned a tree service for the past 5 years. I have purchases trucks, trailers, chippers and grinders. I have used a couple of different shops for maintenance. Tree service is a rough industry and you will find people that are friendly, and people that discussed you. I have been in the industry for 10 years total. I believe that Customers deserve to be treated with respect because of how expensive everything is with the industry. After starting with a small chipper, I upgraded in one year to a 12” machine from Iron Technics Enterprises in Woodenville. Knowing we were a new company they let me pay for the chipper with a deposit and three payments over the next three months. They have nice equipment and great customer service. They also do major repair and in some cases give you a loaner until your equipment is ready.
I have used Wesspur in Pacific to do a couple of repairs. The problem is they do not stock any parts that work with Vermeer products. They have your equipment down for more than a week. just to get parts. This company has changed owners recently and come to find out it was bought by one of the mechanics. During this last and final visit to Wesspur they had my grinder for over 2 weeks. As a full service tree service we were not able to complete big jobs and collect from our clients until the stumps were removed. The worst part is I never received an estimate for the repairs. They took it upon them selves to do the repairs with out my permission. After we were told the machine was done we drove a long way to pick it up and that is when I found out how much the repairs were. We had money for a deposit but could not pay the full bill. I asked if we could use the machine to finish a job and pay the balance 2 days later and was told no. After not being able to collect from our clients, this put us in a horrible situation. We had to rent a grinder to finish a job so we could pay our bill with them. I would never recommend these guys to anyone. They also buy old beat up equipment and do the minimum repairs then sell it with out a warranty, this I assume is to boost there business doing repairs.
Do not go to this store unless you have time to waste and money to burn. I will only take my equipment to Vermeer in Tacoma, or ITE in Woodenville.
