Review content:
Until now. The bottom line is do NOT go here. Our Porcini experience was the most bizarre we have ever experienced & we dine out often. I assumed that people who mention fights with waiters on these review sites are generally volatile people, but we are a nice normal family. We?re shocked that this restaurant can still be open. The 2000 word limit prohibits me from writing about all of the problems we encountered- but trust me, there were a lot. I?ll just focus on the most unbelievable portion of the night. After the rude waiter had brought the wrong dish for my dad & tried to push it onto him, my dad looked around, noticed that 1 of our unopened bottles of wine was no longer in the ice behind us. Since the waiter hadn't been up in 10 minutes & my dad didn't have his food, he decided to go down to ask where the wine was. When he asked very politely in the downstairs main dining room, ""Do you know where our wine is?"" the waiter replied ""YOUR cork broke,"" & asked ""Do you have a problem with that?"" My dad told him that he did considering that nothing had gone smoothly. In the middle of the dining room, the waiter started screaming at my father. When my dad left the dining room to go upstairs, he followed him out. We heard the waiter screaming expletives from upstairs. My mom had to run & get in the middle of them, because it looked like the guy was about to attack my dad. The guy's brother, the other owner (& chef) came out & defended him. Though the waiter never came over to apologize, just gave us death stares each time he entered the room, the chef brought us 3 mediocre desserts, then a 4th when he realized that 3small desserts weren?t enough for 8 people- a fine apology for a minor problem, but an experience like ours demanded much more. My father stiffed a waiter for the first time in his life. We left & saw the waiter storming down the stairs with our check in hand. He chased us out onto the street, yelling things, trying to provoke a physical fight.
Pros: decent food, byo
Cons: Atrocious service- crazy waiter
