Businiess name:  Zuzu Handmade Mexican Food
Review by:  citysearch c.
Review content:
ZuZu's is NOT authentic Mexican food, it's not even really Mexican (I don't know any ethnic chain restaurants that are truly authentic- yes, ZuZu is a chain if you didn't know. The closest that comes to it is Mesa a few shopping centers over). It's more Tex-Mex than anything else. White teenagers, sombrero decorations, premade tortillas, ""mole"" and other food, choosing your entree combos, are not part of the Mexican culture or cuisine. I've lived in and visited Mexico more times than I can count and if you're looking for a truly authentic Mexican place, then this is not the place to go. Having gotten that off my chest, and the whole fake Mexican thing aside, ZuZus is only ok. It's definitely a h*t or miss, sometimes the food is good, other times I've had horrible experiences, mostly not so good ones. My boyfriend even got a little sick after we ate there once The cheese quesadillas are decent and they have nice crispy tortilla chips. Prices are great and it's a good place to take the kids out to dinner, but if you're looking for REAL, AUTHENTIC Mexican, then try La Lupe or Taqueria la Michoacana en Philly. Pros: Good place to take the kids, great prices, good for a quick lunch Cons: NOT AUTHENTIC Mexican, food isn't that great most of the time, but it's good when it is
