Stay away from Steinbeck realty and property unless you want to be lied to and ripped off. I signed a 1 1/2 year lease to rent a house through agent Joseph Hernandez of Steinbeck Realty. A few months after signing this lease, we started getting delinquent mortgage notices in the mail and on our door from the bank that the owner was delinquent in their mortgage. When I called Mr Hernandez at Steinbeck Realty, he blew me off stating California law does not require the owner to disclose any information of this nature to the tenants. Shortly before our lease was to expire, we did some research and discovered that the owner had let the house go into foreclosure. I called Mr Hernandez several times at Steinbeck realty and property to inquires only to not have him ignore my calls. We then got a notice from the bank stating they had foreclosed on the property and we had to move. Bottom line, the property owner and Mr Hernandez at Steinbeck Realty were pocketing our money even when they knew what was going on but they never even bothered to give us a heads up or a warning. VERY SHADY AND VERY POOR BUSINESS PRACTICE. This post makes you give it a rating so I had to give it the lowest I could (1 star) other wise it would have been none. Cons: Dishonest and lies to clients.
