Review content:
I have been a member for over 5 years and I like the design of the facility and it's amenities, 4 racquetball courts, one of which is currently being used for spinning, indoor basketball court with an indoor track above, complete weight room with recently added kettleballs in the basketball court which also serves as group exercise room. Yoga classes and individual exercise in large room upstairs next to the track. Dry sauna, steam room, and whirlpool (currently with no air, but stays hot) in bath area. Outdoor pool, constant depth of 4feet(lap pool). Recently had major repairs to bath facilities, carpet etc. Roof leaks in a few areas when it rains, maybe its age (est. building is 30 yrs. old0, or overuse of rooftop A/C unit which brings me to my dislike. I notice the indoor temperature is kept at 75deg.F or lower in the summer and upon entering from the summer heat of 90+deg. one feels an abnormal chill. For that reason it should be called something other than a health club. One would expect a health club to be more attuned to the environment, allowing members to sweat freely, your body heat helping burn off bad fat, the sweating help reduce hypertension causing excess body salt. I have some experience in energy management and the recommended indoor temp. setting is 78-80 deg.F. The energy used to cool those extra degrees in southern summer heat can be exorbitant and place a strain on power supply and the building itself. I have mentioned this to the management and they failed to comply, leaving me to think they are selfish, greedy and even non human or with diminished sensory capacity, there is a noticeable discontinuity in comfort. Concluding, current management can be found guilty of waste, also evident in the recent repairs where they changed colors of newly painted walls, and ripped off new wall paneling they installed. Also notice current membership offer is $14.99/mo., ( I gather because there is a competing facility offering $10/mo.dues) which seems like an insult to older members that started off paying approx.$30/mo.
