Review content:
Veranda is one of the best restaurants in Birmingham...but it's not the first that comes to mind when you ask most of your friends. Why? It's a well hidden secret. I've tried the cheesecake and peanut butter pie...and it was better than my grandmother's. The cheesecake was perfect...not too heavy. The quail with sunny side quail egg was tender and flavorful. The scallops were mentioned in another review and I can concur...they are seared to perfection. The staff is professional...the atmosphere is romantic...and the chef's private room is an experience worth trying. (You and other couples go to a private area and the chef prepares a 7 course meal...his choice...for you and your friends.) I recently discovered they serve brunch on Sundays and a jazz band plays music for Veranda guests. I can't wait!
