We just moved into a new house and hired the Irish Sweep to come clean our chimney, upon the recommendation of our realtor. I thought they did an excellent job. \r

Sally, the owner, and Ryan, her newest apprentice, came early for their appointment. They put out a big white sheet on the floor and Sally put on a (rather scary looking :) cotton sack on her head, and proceeded to vacuum out our chimney. After she was done, she very patiently gave me an education on my fireplace, what condition it was in, and how I should take care of it. She even pointed out that the glass doors that the previous owner had put in was not the right sort for the fireplace--if I had used it with the glass doors closed, I might have dangerously overheated the fireplace. She then offered to take off the frame for me; even though this took a lot of crawling into the fireplace and took much longer than expected (everything was rusted), she did not charge me extra for this job.\r

Sally and Ryan were both polite, friendly, chatty, and likeable. They were professional, quick and clean. It's unusual also for a woman to be a sweep, which I think is very very cool. I would use Sally again and highly recommend her.\r

(p.s. if you call the number for the Irish Sweep and get the answering machine message, don't get turned off by how long and detailed the message is! I thought it went on forever, but I think it is because Sally likes her clients to be well informed. She called me quickly after I left a message and was very easy-going.)
