STAY AWAY FROM THE POOL GUYS, INC. UNLESS YOU WANT TO BURN MONEY AND DAMAGE YOUR PROPERTY. David Adams ripped me off on a pool and patio remodel. After cashing a deposit check and making a mess in the backyard, he stopped showing up and shut off his Cricket phone. The women who came by weekly as part of his pool cleaning service confided that he hadn't paid them in weeks and they were buying chemicals with their own money. It was an utter fiasco to clean up his mess. The Pool Guys may start out okay with small projects like replacing pumps, filters and pool lights, but it's highly likely the components were installed improperly only to have the damage revealed at a later date. I just recently discovered David installed the pool light incorrectly. It's not a great feeling putting your family in a pool he did electrical work on. Hopefully, no one will consider using The Pool Guys in the future. Unless you enjoy having your money stolen, your property damaged, spending thousands of dollars in repair bills and attorney's fees and high levels of stress and chaos you'd be better off with just about anyone else in town. David Adams will absolutely take your money and perform shoddy work or no work at all. He has no regard for his own employees, sub-contractors, customers or the law. I'm sorry I didn't write this review two year ago when I was swindled. I thought he was run out of town back then. I'm shocked he's still out there scamming people. He did teach me several lessons about using contractors. Make sure to ask to see the contractor's license and insurance in person and make sure that he/she is securing any permits if needed. David Adams said he had all the necessary credentials, but now I do not believe he's licensed or even insured. Regardless, he's not competent and he's a crook. I'm glad this website is here to warn people. A decent contractor is hard to find. Ask your friends and family and check online especially Angie's List. The BBB had given The Pool Guys an A+ when we did our research. I notice now that the Pool Guys have an F rating. Reference checks and the BBB are not sufficient in gauging the quality of a business. Good luck with your search for a reputable pool company. Let me know if you find one.
