Review content:
I have been to bracken bird farm many times starting when I was a kid. When I went for the first time with my aunt about 10 years ago I remember this place being wonderful. There were so many beautiful birds to look at and choose from at great prices, they also had a camel, ox, goats, a pig, ostriches, ducks, etc to look at and feed, and the avery was open. \r
I went back as an adult fairly recently and was dissappointed. there werent many birds to choose from, a lot of them were or looked sick, the avery was closed and had no birds, they only had 2 emus, 3 turkeys and a long horn ox, and no food to feed them. The prices weren't much better than pet store prices. I ended up leaving with a cockatile, and 3 parakeets. Two of the parakeets I left with I argued with them for about 30 min to convince them to give them to me. They were babies, 2 yellow ones and they had deformed legs, they could not sit up right or sit on a pirch so the other birds packed in the cage were walking all over them and pooping on them. I was outraged so i demanded to leave with them even if i had to pay full price. I still have them and after a lot of time and attention they are able to sit on a perch. the 3rd parakeet i left with ended up sick and died, ends up he had a liver problem and after spending $100's at the vet there was nothing else i could do. \r
My friend who was with me left with a baby white parakeet from the cramed cage, he was blind and couldnt even seem to find the food or a perch. he does well now that he is the only one in the cage. \r
over all this ended up being more of a rescue mission. .\r
the staff was rude and was really pushing their seed and cages&supplies on us. They wouldnt take no for an answer even though i told them I had cages at home ready. \r
The only good thing was that I was able to handel and choose my own cockatile, and I went home with a wonderful beautiful firendly cockatile.
Pros: you can look around handel and choose your own bird
Cons: sick birds, small selection, rude staff
