I bought an 85 El Camino on Friday afternoon. Took it to Kwik Kar to see about some electrical work that needed done among belts being replaced and a leak in my a/c valve, they were not able to help me with the electrical issue so the referred me to the shop across the street. I took the car up to them on Monday with what I understood to be some loose wiring. I had a light behind the speedometer not working, my turn signal arrow light would work off and on, and the a/c would work off and on. Sure enough Auto Improvements said that there were some loose grounds that they tightened, and that my a/c blower motor needed to be replaced, all was fine, I got my car back on Tuesday after I spent a total of $377 to have them fix the problems. By Tuesday night my light behind the speedometer was out again, and by Wednesday afternoon my turn signal would not work. So Wednesday afternoon I took the car back to Auto Improvements after Eddy the manager said he would get it taken car of for me since they were suppose to have fixed those issues. The guy at the shop said he would give me a call Wednesday night to let me know what was going on. Never heard from them Wednesday, never heard from them all day Thursday until I called them at 2:30pm to ask what was going on with my car. The guy said they were currently working on it and put me on hold, came back and told me they were test driving it to make sure all the lights work and that they had replaced all the bulbs in the dash and two ground wires, and that I could come up to pick it up. I got up there after work only to be told that my check engine light was on, and that it was probably on before but the bulb was out, and since they replaced the bulbs it was now visible. Eddy told me that he looked over my engine and everything seemed to be fine and that he would not let me drive it if he didn't think it was safe, and that if I wanted to leave the car with them longer they would find the problem with the check engine light. Here's my problem, if they would have done their job right on Tuesday, I wouldn't have had to take my car back to them on Wendesday, and they would have known from the get go my check engine light was on and would have had plenty of time to look over it. They didn't even tell me when I talked to them at 2:30 that the light was on so that I could have made other arrangements for transportation and left the car with them. At this point I do not trust the shop nor what they are telling me, for all I know they put the check engine light on so that I could leave the car with them so that they could find something else to charge me with. Either way they were never in contact with me to let me know what was going on with my car, and their overall customer service and satisfaction was beyond poor and dissatisfying. To top it all off, when I first bought the car the engine purred, now it is running rougher than it did when I first took it to them. DO NOT TRUST THIS SHOP!! THEY WILL SCAM YOU!!
