As a former Memphian, I am confidant in saying that the Commissary has the best BBQ in town. The pulled pork has such a wonderful taste that you almost don't need the sauce. If you try to go eat at 7 pm on a Friday night, like most good BBQ places in Memphis, you will be waiting in line. However, food delivery is quick.
I have a few tips for first timers. First, go early so you aren't stuck waiting in line. Second, the church across the street allows you to park in their parking lot. Finally, the best deal is to get the 6 pack to go. For $17, you get 1 lb of pulled pork, 6 buns, mild and hot sauce, a quart of beans and a pint of cole slaw. If you don't like those options, they will substitute just about sides for you at no charge.
