Review content:
I just have to say that clark county social services located on pinto lane has got to be the most useless social service resource we have in las vegas. In the past 8 years I have had to ask for their assistance maybe a total of 4 times and have been turned away each time because of some rediculous stipulation. For ex: I just came from there because I needed rental assistance. I had originally seeked help from Help of Southern Nevada, but because I do not receive income they could not assist me. (Help of Southern Nevada has helped me in the past and they are very good). Due to me not receiveing income they referred me to ccss. I arrived there at 5:45 am, stood in line for and hour and a half. (not complaing about standing in line just trying to explain from beginning to end.), then filled out sheet of paper requesting what I needed. When it was my turn the rep. asked me for my paper and noticed I was requesting rental assistance. She then asked if I have received any income this month. I told her that my ex had helped me with my power bill but I do not work. Her answer to that was(well, that is considered income so we are not qualified to help you.) Are you kidding me, mean while the guy in front of me told me they have been paying his rent for the past 7mo. cause his back was no good though he looked fine to me. Here I am with 3 kids, a 4mo old granddaughter with a heart defect, and a disabled father, and they cant help me cause someone payed my power bill! CCSS, I do not know where you get your priorities from but it is very disheartning. I do not have faith in your so called social services and there are really no more words to explain my disappointment in your system.
