Review content:
I went into E&E with an open mind. I heard about them on KJOY 94.3 radio. I am a successful single guy on long island looking for something to do. I don't have time to waste so this seemed like a good option.
I met with a sales person, and as expected (based on research online) they had me fill out a questionnaire. This included questions like, how much do I make, have I been convicted of any crimes etc.. My assumption is that it was a background check to see if I was crazy or perhaps able to afford the product they were offering.
The sales person had me wait in the office while she did a ""google search"" on me as the salesperson said. She came back in the room and showed me the events that the organization hosts. They all had costs associated with them. Some were cheap like a night at the bar, some were more expensive, like a cruise.. Either way so far it looked reasonable..
I was happy to hear about all this... At the end of her presentation, I asked her the ""big question"". How much does it cost? She said the 1 year package was $1000 + (Exactly I don't remember) the 2 year membership was about 30% more..
I further inquired about the costs. What if I didn't like the program? Is there some sort of guarantee if for arguments sake I don't like the activities? The answer was a big NO.
That bothered me a lot. I walked out of the office not purchasing their service. Why? IF you have a product you are so confident someone will like, you should have no problem standing behind it. It should sell itself. I am not looking for a ""you will meet love"" guarantee, but what if I didn't like the events, they weren't my style? Why should I be forced to pay $1000 + in hopes that the description they put forth is truthful. I don't know this company from a hole in the wall. They could be taking my money!
YEs in new york you have 3 days to get out of a contract, but who wants to exercise that right? That can only get ugly.
I would like to see a ""Two event trial"" or a ""1 month trial"" or ""IF you don't like it in 30 days we give you all but $100 back."" something like that. It is the right thing to do.
If anyone has any questions please feel free to contact me..
If you have had a different experience, or have done this and have enjoyed it I would LOVE to hear your opinion.. All it takes is one person to recommend it for another to join!.
Pros: The prospect of not having to coordinate events on your own
Cons: No Guarantee behind the product
