Review content:
We planned a trip to Durango and decided we wanted to stay in a cabin, and found Echo Basin in Mancos, about 22 miles from Durango. It was really wonderful. The cabin was very spacious, and grounds were beautiful, and we had deer walking right by our campsite. They arranged a trail ride for us on short notice and tried to accommodate us in any way they could. The cabin did not have any dishes, silverware, or cookware, so I was a little thrown off by that. You ARE camping, but my boys so enjoying lighting the campfire each night. Linens are not changed during your stay, except for towels, which you put outside of your cabin and they drop of fresh ones later in the day. The cabin is not fancy. The beds were servicable, and the bunk beds were metal barracks-style. My teen loved retreating to the loft in the cabin. The restaurant at the lodge is adequate, but the restaurant in Mancos itself is excellent. The bar at the lodge is good and they have free pool on Thursdays. The outdoor swimming pool was well kept. The beauty of the setting would sell me on staying here again, as well as the helpfulness of the staff. And while the cabin didn't have a lot of amenities (tv did not work) it had it's own charm. Overall, this was a great place to stay.
