Our Kenmore dishwasher stopped working. Sears wanted $129 to walk in the door. I called six other places and left messages. I don't begrudge service companies who don't personally answer the phone, voicemail is cheaper than a receptionist., as long as they return the call. Hopkins was the first of two who did. (Hopkins was also one who provided a cell phone number for emergencies.) \r \r They were available early the next day. They gave me a 30 minute window and came about 5 minutes early, tolerated my inquisitive dogs, and diagnosed the problem, a heater and control board, within about 15 minutes.\r \r Greg didn't take money for the service call at that time and said he'd call me that afternoon with a price quote for the parts. He called that afternoon and we settled on the following Monday morning at 7 which was very convenient for me. They arrived as scheduled, still tolerated the dogs, and got the unit working in about 40 minutes. The total cost, parts and two service calls was $119, but there's more.\r \r About 10 days later the control panel started acting up. Some of the buttons didn't work and the indicators were showing incorrectly. I called him at 7:00 PM on Christmas Eve. He called back on the first workday after Christmas and arranged a return visit. \r \r Again, they showed up right on time. He knew exactly what was wrong and replaced the electronic part in 20 minutes, No charge.\r \r Some places don't warranty electronic parts. Some places never step in the door without charging you. Hopkins appliance did both. Some places won't give you a service window shorter than 4 hours. Hopkins' service windows were 30 min to 2hrs and they were always on time. Greg also called the day before to confirm each appointment. I think that's great customer service!\r \r Hopkins Appliance is the one I'll call next time.
