I found myself planning a wedding from 2000 miles away. I depended on my planner to help me through the process, I unfortunately chose Melissa Hill. While she was one of the most comforting voices during my planning, in the end she showed her true colors. Not only did she not listen to my wants, she showed complete disregard for the contract we signed. I was promised that her husband would be there to help with the groom & groomsmen (he never showed) and only because I reminded the female ""assistant"" that they were in need of a little help did she go and gather them, put them on the bus and then HELD them! They were to go to the church and be photographed! Once the wed. party arrived at the church she decided to hold it again, what was she thinking? This caused the bus to be late picking up all the guests. She was heard saying ""well that's what you get for getting one bus"", was she trying to sabotage my wedding? This attitude was the only consistancy she provided.\r
On to the ceremony. I spent months and months planning the wedding of my dreams only to have them crushed by the dreadful Melissa Hill. My flowers, instead of looking Spring like, looked DEAD. The branches were to have greenery with blooms, not dead branches with obviously hot glue gunned petals. The appearance was to be a modern parklike setting in shades of white, the only color was to be the bouquet's. The main ceremony centerpiece ended up being pink & red roses, my chosen flower was dogwood, back up was orchids. I could go on and on listing problems, but I think any bride to be can see what she did to my wedding memories. She was also overheard saying to one of her assistants "" just ask daddy for more money"" while she was dressing in the church bathroom in front of the bridesmaids, 3 of which were my sisters. \r
I had a budget that would have allowed for a far more exquisite wedding and because Melissa Hill has no skills as a wedding planner mine was only half of what it should have been. Be afraid.
Pros: Made a pretty bridesmaid bouquet.
Cons: Made us feel like we were being ""protected"" from our guests instead of creating an atmosphere of welcome. Doesn't listen, is rude, doesn't get along with other wedding professionals.
