Oh the noise, oh the noise, oh the noise noise noise NOISE! No, I have not been a grinch my whole life, living at Lacey West Apartments turned me into one. If you are the adventurous type and would like to brave these complexes, I would not recommend renting an apartment that faces any of the alleyways, unless you are the type that enjoys listening to heavy bass coming from car stereos at all hours of the day, and waking up to it at all hours of the night. They do have a security guard on duty at night (who is great) but when he is off duty and you have to call security you will get Chris (one of the office workers) who will tell you ""I'm not getting out of bed"". If you have a noise problem during the day and call to make a complaint the manager will call the neighbor. You might get lucky and the noise will stop, or your neighbor might be a savage that doesn't realize that there are people living next door, or doesn't care. If your neighbor turns out to be a savage and continues to be noisy then it is pretty much hopeless because nothing permanent will be done about it. The noise is not the only complaint that I have, there is also the fact that the water is constantly being shut off, yes they are old buildings and the pipes are old, but for the water to be shut off on a constant basis is rediculous. The power seems to go out in this area quite often as well. There was one weekend where the power and water both went out at the same time, not fun. If the water is running and you need to use the laundry room, good luck finding a clean washer and dryer, or one that works for that matter, there is usually at least one machine out of order. There is one upside to the apartments, the pools. Ahhhh, nothing like taking a cool dip into the pool on a hot summer day, then you notice all the band-aids and hair globs and 50 other people in the pool who are probably not even residents of the apartments. Ok so I guess the pool isn't an upside, I tried. So to sum it up, if you love noisy neighbors, useless managers, having your water turned off constantly, and swimming with hair globs, then Lacey West Apartments are just right for you.
