Let me get right to the point: I am Korean. Like most Asians, my hair is very difficult to cut - it is coarse, it grows in thickly, and you can see any mistakes in cutting it from about ten feet away. I have been living in and out of Ithaca since 2002, and it wasn't until I went to Gia's Elite Style that I finally found someone in Ithaca who could cut my hair properly.
The stylist at Gia's does an amazing job from start to finish. She takes the time to study your face and to listen to you explain what you want to do with your hair. Along the way, she gives helpful suggestions for the cut. Once she starts cutting, she takes her time to do everything just right; I never feel like she's going ahead of what I want. My cut usually takes about 30 minutes, and she uses every minute of it to the max. And, remarkably, she's able to hold a fun and genuine conversation the whole time! She really understands hair, and she takes your haircut personally.
All of this for just around $30-35! I'll be sticking with Gia's Elite Style for the rest of my time here in Ithaca.
