Review content:
I frst went to Animal Urgent Care several years ago and then again about 5 years ago. Neither experience was pleasant and was very costly. I can't go into detail becaue you can write only so many words. \r \r The real INJUSTICE is that THEY ARE THE ONLY AFTER HOUR URGENT CARE IN FAYETTEVILLE!!!! \r \r \r Then in January of this year my poor little chihuahua, Rocky, was attacked by a pack of wild stray dogs. I have to make this short also because of limit of words. We rushed him to Animal Urgent Care. The vet on duty took x-rays and found that Rocky's abdomen had been punctured. They did not do the surgey until 6 hrs later. THIS IS THE WORST PART!!!!! I had to pick him up at 8:00 am monday morning and transport him to his regular vet and THEN I had to pick him up at 6:00 pm when the regular vet closed and transport him to Animal Urgent Care. This went on every morning and evening until Wednesday night when he died at Animal Urgent Care. The place was chaos. There was a lost of seriously ill and injured animals. They called me to a room about 1 hr later and told me that Rocky had crashed and did I want them to take ""extraordinary measures?"" Yes, Yes, Yes. I waited and waited and prayed and prayed. Rocky was such a sweet adorable little guy and he had been my best friend for 6 years. He had a lot of living left. A tech (not the vet) told me they ""couldn't save Rocky."" There is more horror that I have to leave out but most important I want all to know is: Rocky's little body was so tortured. \r \r As I write this I am crying again. I did research on Rocky's type of injury and found out that only an experienced animal surgeon should even try that kind of surgery and that it was almost always fatal. We had charged over $3,000 on our credit card trying to do everything to save his life. The worst part is how much my sweet little boy suffered before died. \r \r It is not only Animal Urgent Care to blame. It is all the V ets in Cumberland County. I tried to find 1 vet that kept sick and injured animals over night. They all only board healthy animals that don't need medical supervision. Look in the yellow pages and you will find that all the Vets' offices in Fayetteville list Animal Urgent Care as the emergeny/after-hour number to call.\r \r I also researched the vets that work at Animal Urgent Care. I found out that they are all fresh out of college and have very little experience. They are all low-man on the totem pole. Also, they don't even have an experienced vet oncall for emergencies they are unable to care for. I learned that Rocky had only a 15% chance of survival even if he had been treated by the best vet in Fayetteville. I loved him so much! Can you imagine having open heart surgery or some other major surgery at Cape Fear Valley Hospital and every morning and evening a family member would have to come and pick you up and transport you to a different location? I am so outraged. It took me 8 months to finally decide to say and do something about this travesty, I am first going to find another Urgent Care even if it's miles away and I'm also going to try and find a vet in another county. I blame them all for Rocky's death. If you have had a similar experience, please write me as ""Loves Animals"" at P.O. Box 64848, Fayetteville, NC 28306. They won't let me publish my email address. I intend to contine research, notify all the animal protection societys, and present the information to the Fayetteville Observer. This has to stop. Animal Urgent Care's first priority is to get as much money as they can. Maybe the vets in Cumberland County don't know what their practices are but trust me they will soon!
