Leander ISD is known for being a great school district that takes pride in what they do which is why I am so sad that thier bus barn, which by the way is located right next to Lakeline Blvd, a very VERY busy street loaded with parents and children walking and riding to school, has 2 ""smoke areas"" that seem to ALWAYS be full of people out smoking and chatting. It looks as though every single person that works for their transportation department is a chain smoker. It's awful cause those people are bus drivers and I can only imagine how terrible thier clothes smell. I have lived in Leander for 19 years and I am just disgusted at how out of the entire area that is used for the bus lot or whatever they decided to put the smoke things out in plain view to where everyone can see, including children that cross at the cross walk very close to one of the smoke tables. It should be very embarressing to the district and it is a total degrading of LISD in general. It looks very trashy and I think it was a very poor idea to put the smoke tables where they were put. People should be allowed to smoke but as an educational based facility you should maybe not advertise so openly about smoking and if they absoultley must be placed where they are placed you should filter the amount of people allowed to go smoke. Seems like there is a freakin' party out there every single time I ever pass.
