Review content:
I am from Jackson, Mississippi and Reo, the owner, is from Magnolia, MS. He is the uncle of Snoop Dogg and is one damn fine BBQin' man. This is hands down the first place I have found for true southern food. The hushpuppies are the way I remember them as a child, the catfish is nicely breaded with corn meal and flakey on the inside, the pulled pork and brisket are tender, the greens are spicy and cooked with ham hock and the tea is plentiful. Yeah, it's expensive, but so is MEAT people! I was full on a small sandwich plate for $7 and it came with beans AND cornbread. The sauce is classic Mississippi style, which means it extremely close to smokey, sweet, dark Memphis style. I thought Reo was personable and the place like Home Sweet Home. Most good BBQ shacks in MS aren't about atmosphere, they are about the FOOD. Plus...Mississippi is a poor state. We don't have time for atmosphere. Good food takes time so they suggest you call ahead if on a time table. Big Love to Reo and his kick a** Mississippi style southern cookin'.
Pros: True Southern Cookin'
Cons: True Southern Atmosphere
