***UPDATE to previous post***
Based on my previous post and an email that I sent to Paracca, I was contacted by Pete Paracca. Pete seems like a really good guy and obviously takes pride in his work and his company. He offered to pay to replace the missing tools. Pete informed me that he has spoken with his entire crew and is confident that incidents like this will not happen again. While the install did not meet my expectations (I am not sure if they were just having a bad day or not), the willingness of Pete and his Paracca crew to try to make things right says a lot about the type of company Paracca is.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I do not normally write reviews, but I was so disappointed with a recent carpet and tile install that I felt I had let people know about my experience.
I will start by saying I am completely satisfied with the quality of the carpet and tile that was installed. After much shopping around, I found that I could have gotten the same (or very similar) products from a number of suppliers. The main reason I chose to pay a little more with Paracca was because I expected to have experts installing my flooring properly. Overall, I am VERY DISSAPPOINTED with the installation. On the surface, both the carpet and tile look good, but after closer examination, I found several things that make me question the qualification of your installers.
The first thing I noticed was several divots (voids) in the grout lines. Then I noticed grout all over the walls surrounding the tile install. Not just areas that would have been covered up by trim, but significant splattering a foot up the wall. I understand that grout can get messy (not this messy), but I would expect a true professional to take enough pride in their work to clean up after themselves. It would have been a simple wipe down of the walls while the grout was wet.
I also noticed marks on the recently painted trim all the way around the carpeted area and a few spots where the trim was cracked from the abuse. I could probably live with that because most of the marks are more or less hidden by the carpet, but the guys also left marks higher up on the wall. In two locations it looks like they rested a tool (or something) against the wall and the tool must have fallen over because it left two large arcs in the paint where I am guessing the tool fell.
The straw that broke the camel’s back for me is that since the guys left, I have been unable to find several of my tools. These tools were stored in an area the crew used for access to the work site. I am the last guy that would ever accuse someone of stealing, but I take very good care of my tools and the only people that had access to that area was the install crew. I did send a couple of emails to the sales representative asking if the tools were picked up by accident, but never heard back.
I chose Paracca because I thought they were a step above the “big box stores” and would provide a better overall experience. Clearly this is not the case!!!
