Review content:
After being hired by an independent company to review several restaurants in the area, I came across Antonio's in Dania. I wasn't sure if it was a restaurant or a pizza parlor due to the fact that as I came in, I was ignored. 3 minutes later I was asked if I'd like to sit. The sit down process was normal, nearly a 3 minute wait for drinks & menus.\r
I decided to go with the pizza. The price was fine, but one of the things the company that hired me is trying to uncover is abuse of the consumer. They charge 2 toppings for a pizza with half on one side & half on the other. I purchased it anyhow; but begin to wonder when companies are so desperate that they consider the consumers to be of less than average intelligence to try and sneak an extra buck out of the consumer. What other corners are they cutting?\r
The best part by a large margin was their bread rolls. They really have them down to an art. A lightly toasted roll smothered with garlic, spices, & olive oil. These were so delicious that you were almost afraid to eat anything else as to not risk losing the memory of the bread roll you had just eaten. Once again, definitely the highlight of the evening.\r
Then came the pizza. A slightly below average pizza. Nothing out of the ordinary with a hard crust. Only parmesan cheese was on the table & the waiter was nowhere to be found for an additional 7-9 min. When the oregano did arrive, I was half done. In the end, I just kept thinking about the bread rolls.\r
When it came time to pay, I received a bill and no explanation. I sat for an additional 7 minutes until I decided to get up and head towards the door and ask if I paid there. The answer, was not, ""Yes."" The answer was more of the type of head nod that one receives with the half closed, semi-rolled eyes with an inkling of a smirk along the face of a blonde girl in her early twenties. She definitely did not seem to: 1.)Want to be at working.\r
2.)Had a devastating & catastrophic event occur recently.\r
3.) Just plain out didn't like my physical complexion/appearance.\r
\r
Upon saying ,""Thank you,"" I was ignored and no smile + ""You're welcome"" was offered""\r
This was to be expected from the very beginning. The atmosphere was dense inside. Definitely not a comfortable experience.\r
\r
As a result of this particular visit, I would recommend this place for delivery of an average pizza and for their phenomenal bread rolls (In the top 2 of the best I've had). Other than that; unless you know the owner, don't expect great service.
