Review content:
El Maguey is our preferred place for good down home Mexican food. Their portions are generous, fresh made, and delicious. My favorite is the a la carte selections, the tostadas and burritos are wonderful. One wet burrito is a full meal deal. But the combo plates are the perfect way to get a sample of a variety of dishes for a truly low price. And the tamales are right out of mom's kitchen. From the smallest glass to the biggest pitcher, their margaritas are well made, and they KNOW that you need TEQUILA in a margarita. I prefer a Tecate or dos Equis though. The service is quick, crisp, and professional. I still don't know how they carry those platters piled from their hand up the arm to their shoulder without dropping one. Their is sometimes a language barrier, but hey, what do you expect with a restaurant this authentic. I find that a smile and charm go a long way toward making the exchange pleasant. Go, eat, enjoy. Many times!!
Pros: Patio service, authentic food
Cons: Can't think of any, ever
