Review content:
I hired Mr. John Tidwell of Tidwell's TV Repair Service to repair a 52 inch television in my living room on 11/15/11 that was having power problems and wouldn't turn on. He originally quoted me $100 to fix it, but added another $20 to his fee for ""extra parts"" about 40 minutes after his arrival. I was expecting out of town guests for much of the upcoming holiday season and was so grateful for his help, I added a $5 tip.\r

Allthough the TV had a picture when he left, the quality of that picture was not good and the colors were way off. I spent over 30 minutes fiddling with the tint, contrast and saturation in order to try and get a decent picture. I called Mr. Tidwell within an hour of when he left my home to report the issue and he said he would call me back to schedule a follow-up appointment. Within 36 hours of his visit, the TV reverted to it's original state and again it had no picture or sound. Mr. Tidwell has never returned to correct the problem or even had the courtesy to call as he promised. \r

A $125 expense is a big deal in my house. With two children both in diapers and me being out of work, my family is on a very tight budget and we had to save up the money to have this done. We still can't afford to hire someone else to fix the TV behind Mr. Tidwell. Over the last months we have not been able to enjoy family time watching movies or the kids' favorite DVDs. Not having TV also negatively affectd the holiday experience of my guests and I was embarassed having to expose my family's hardship to our visitors.\r
\r
I have called and left several voicemail messages at every number I could find associated with Mr. Tidwell. Tidwell's TV Repair Service promotes itself as a long-standing company who provides quality service to East Atlanta neighborhoods. It's very disheartening to learn that someone who is supposed to be your neighbor (his operation is located in my town about a fifteen minute drive from my home)would take advantage of struggling people in his own community.
