Review content:
I've been going to see Kathleen two times a week for almost 5 years. She came highly recommended by a friend who was in therapy with her for over ten years. WIth her help, he tackled depression, childhood trauma, smoking and alcohol addiction. To her credit, he's the most evolved, self-aware person that I know.\r \r In the beginning, I was concerned about the cost of treatment because Kathleen is an out-of-network provider, but experience has proved that she's worth it. I'm so glad that I didn't settle for someone else. We have a great repoire and as far as I'm concerned, she's the best there is.\r \r With Kathleen, the goal is not to 'fix' or 'cure' you, but to help you work through whatever it is that blocks you, holding you back from being the most YOU.\r \r Personal exploration is very important to me. The journey of self discovery can be a bumpy road. Alone and without direction, it is easy to become battered and lost. Through the course of my treatment, Kathleen has helped me deal with everything from symptoms of Bipolar Disorder and ADD, to the everyday challenges of being human. \r \r Kathleen works with an excellent psychiatrist who helped me to determine what medications work best to assist in balance my brain chemistry. With their help, I have reached such a higher level of functioning than before. I don't dread everything anymore (at least most days). What used to seem crushing when I was totally over-stimulated, I now have the ability to reflect on and put into perspective.\r \r It is vital for a patient to be able to connect with their therapist, with whom they share so much. Kathleen is empathetic, kind, compassionate, smart, funny and challenging in all the right ways. She plays a significant role in my life. I have the utmost respect for her, as a therapist, and as a person. She is easy to look up to...and Kathleen is the best dressed person I know!\r \r Kathleen conducts herself in a professional manner. She continues to attend courses to further her knowledge and keep up-to-date on advancements in the field. \r \r Kathleen is very reliable. She is flexible and has allowed me to have phone sessions when I'm not able to get downtown. Kathleen even calls me on the weekend to check in during particularly stressful times.\r \r Kathleen practices out of a comfortable office located on the 12th floor of a building in downtown Chicago at the corner of Washington and Michigan. Pros: Compassionate, intelligent, funny, reliable and modern Cons: Does not accept my health care insurance
