They charged me $514 to put in an aftermarket muffler and claimed they were giving me a $50 discount. The dealer price (Honda) for the company part and installation was less than $300. Most facilities in the are would have charged around $250 or less.
I'd been going to them for years and spent thousands of dollars at this facility. I had been aware of moderate overcharges but hadn't bought a muffler in a long time. So I trusted them when they put on the part and then found out they were charging me twice as much as everyone else for an aftermarket part. They also charged more for shop supplies and gaskets than anyone else.
