Review content:
We decided to go here after a friendly recommendation, but I did look at these reviews before we went - I guess I should have been tipped off by the average reviews, three stars being halfway between the ""oh my, SANDOVAL'S™ is simply WONDERFUL visit SANDOVAL'S™"" five-star reviews and the one-star ""urgh""s. Wen went along anyway, got a table immediately and I ordered the mole enchiladas.
Anyway yeah, the food was not so good. Pretty bland, I think I aimed too high with the mole (another review said it was great - it wasn't), and the sour cream was like a thick zigzag of toothpaste, obviously from a squeezy bottle. The service was fine, but when the waitress came to refill our salsa bowl she did it from an old, beaten-up tupperware jug, salsa plopping out of the spout. Appetizing!
Pros: We were seated straightaway, cheap specials
Cons: Even the specials aren't bringing us back there
