Review content:
LA Fitness in Downey is a big disappointment. The receptionists often are talking on their cell phones or to each other and have almost never greeted me when I hand them my pass. I also belong to 24 Hour Fitness, and was shocked how unfriendly the staff are at LA Fitness in comparison. I take classes at the gym and am disappointed in the low quality of instructors and their classes at LA. I have complained several times, but nobody seems to care, even Lance, the former manager, who signed me up. I wonder if the instructors have any certification or training at all, because they are so terrible. There is only a small handful of instructors who I feel I get a good workout with, because most instructors make it way too easy. Only a few instructors even move to the beat of the music, which is completely annoying, as well as causing them to do uneven repetitions on each side (if they were even counting at all). I only go there because I moved down the street and 24 Hour Fitness is too far. I'm considering driving back to my old gym, even though it'll take over 30 min each way, because LA Fitness classes leave me so out of shape.Truly disappointing.
Pros: close to home
Cons: Rude employees, Terrible Instructors
