Review content:
Just like the previous post, I highly recommend you stay away from Tom at TR Guitars! Last year in January 2010, I went in to his shop to get an electronic pickup installed on my new hand-made Collings OM3 acoustic guitar that cost $4,432.00. When I gave him the guitar he assured me this would be an easy job. He said that it would take a couple of days but ended up taking several more days. I called him many times and wouldn’t even return my phone calls. He finally finishes the installation several days later then expected. When I went to pick up the guitar, his credit card machine was broken so I had to pay him cash. I’m already annoyed that he didn’t return my calls and now his credit card machine doesn’t work!! That’s the way to run a business!! After I took the guitar home, I notice the endpin hole where he drilled to install the pick-up on my guitar looked too big and loose. I loosened up the endpin and the hole that he drilled was not even round, it was oval! So I took my Collings guitar to McCabe’s Guitar shop in Santa Monica and had a technician look at the hole that Tom drilled and they could not believe it! So I took the guitar back to Tom and he wouldn’t even give me my money back for ruining my guitar. Without going into even more details, I sued him in a small claims court in June 2010 and the judge was in my favor and I won $600 for his negligence. It’s March 2011, over a year later, and he only paid me $88 after I sent a sheriff to collect money through Till-tap. Unless you want to experience something similar, STAY AWAY!!!
