Review content:
Having owned and driven SAAB automobiles exclusively since 1971 in parts of the world where the term 'dealership' was a unknown word, I have been reliant on independent specialty shops such as Atomic Auto for parts and service. Over the years, these shops (e.g. Andrews Inc in Princeton, MN, Tired Iron in Sauquoit, NY and Chick's Auto in SLC, UT) have kept our SAAB 'fleet' functional on the rare occasions that breakdowns occurred. You can imagine my good luck when I discovered Travis Decker's Atomic Auto in Portland after recently moving from Utah. His knowledge and expertise in everything SAAB, as well as that of the team of technical staff that he has assembled, put him at the very top of my list of independent SAAB shops. I know from personal experience that Travis goes the extra mile to satisfy his customers and to keep their vehicles operational. The case in point occurred a couple of summers ago when the fuel pump on a SAAB 9-5 failed on a Saturday afternoon at a gas station on I-84, a few miles east of Ontario, OR while enroute back to Utah. After exhausting my diagnostic capabilities, I called Atomic Auto to find Travis in the shop and with his help, the problem was diagnosed. He sent a replacement fuel pump which got me back on the road at minimal cost (and at no cost for the parts or shipping!). It is this kind of service that Atomic Auto provides and why I wholeheartedly recommend his shop to all Portland area SAAB owners, particularly in this new post-GM world!
Pros: exceptional service!
