Review content:
SusieCakes is nestled in a small corner next to the hip Pomme Bebe and Keane coffee. It's the perfect little date spot as you can peer through the glass at all the wonderful pies, tarts, cakes, cupcakes, and cookies. They keep a seasonal rotation of cupcakes and of-season fruit tarts, as well as staple favorites such as red velvet cupcakes. My favorite was the whoopie pie; it was the perfect blend of cake + cookie and looked like a giant orea. Be warned that it will take several days to finish it as it was deceptively heavy & rich!\r

After picking up some treats at Susiecakes, I like to go to Keane coffee for a latte and slowly pick at my dessert. There's also the gourmet grocery store nearby where I can recover from the sugar binge and gawk at all the locally sourced artisanal pasta sauces and handmade chocolates.
Pros: Creative cupcakes, American classic desserts
Cons: Too sweet at times
